2025年、奈良醸造のブルワーがそれぞれにレシピを書いてきたIPAシリーズを締めくくるIPAとして、ヘッドブルワー・浪岡がレシピを書いたDouble IPA「SPARE POCKET」をリリースします。

このスタイルの特徴は非常に苦いところにあるのですが、今回は奈良醸造なりに解釈して「苦みに釣り合う麦芽を使用してメリハリのある味わいを目指すこと」と「心地よい苦みを感じられるよう、華やかなホップの香りを使用すること」を意識して醸造しました。

ビールをグラスに注ぐと、まずトップの香りはマンダリンオレンジを思わせる甘い柑橘。口に含むと、しっかりとした苦みと相まってグレープフルーツのトーンに変わります。その奥に潜んでいるのはパッションフルーツのようなトロピカルな味わい。7.5%とは思えない軽やかさすら感じる口当たりですが、飲み込んだ後には苦みの余韻が長く続く仕上がりです。

Our 2025 IPA series concludes with Head Brewer Namioka's Double IPA. From DOT (point) to LINE to FACE to POCKET, we now present SPARE POCKET.

Double IPA is known for intense bitterness. Our interpretation focuses on two principles:

① Abundant malt balancing the bitterness

② Vibrant hop aromatics for pleasant bitterness

The result: sweet mandarin orange aromas shift to grapefruit with bitterness, revealing tropical passionfruit depths. Dangerously drinkable at 7.5% ABV, finishing with lingering hop bitterness.

We blended two yeasts—clean American and aromatic British—for complex balance. Enjoy ice-cold or warmer as aromatics evolve.
